Benji Madden, the husband of Cameron Diaz, doesn’t seem to be one to mess about when it involves organizing birthday celebrations.
The actress discussed how her husband attempted to prepare her star-studded 50th birthday celebration last month in a clip of her forthcoming interview on the Rachael Ray Show on September 26. Madden, 43, is quoted as saying, “Absolutely adores a celebration,” according to the host.
Diaz revealed, “And when we initially met in our first year together, he threw me three surprise birthday celebrations for one birthday,” noting that she playfully asked Madden, would you seriously stop doing so. “This year, because it was the 50th, he was extremely thrilled and said, ‘We have to do something,’ but I really cannot promise,” she added. She continued, “I could see the worry setting in on his face a week prior. He’s like, ‘So what are we doing for your birthday?’ and I’m like, ‘Let me get back to you,'” she said. “I could see he was in such a panic, even though he was trying so hard.”
So, she said, “we simply had a great little laid-back evening with a group of colleagues who had arrived in the city last-minute.” “I truly liked it.”
