Drake tested COVID-19 positive, cancelled scheduled performance for October

Drake revealed on Monday that he has contracted with COVID-19 and due to that his performance at October World Weekend has been rescheduled. The renowned rapper issued a message explaining the delay in his Stories and then informed his fans of the circumstance on Instagram.

The God’s Plan rapper will take a bit longer to arrive, disappointing Drake fans.

“I am extremely devastated to report that I come back positive for Covid and the Young Money Reunion performance set for tonight is being postponed to the SOONEST date possible,” Drake posted in his Instagram story.

As soon as we get a confirmed date, I will inform the city and let them know about my next schedules.

He shares the message to the fans, “I love you all, I’m sorry I let you down on our weekend together, and until then, please keep safe and well. When I test negative, I’ll give you all I’ve got on stage apart from the Covid, as per entertainment. The rapper from One Dance used an emoticon of a sorrowful face to conclude his message to his followers as he cannot perform on his planned dates.

Unknown to most people, fans were especially eager to see the rapper since Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne were scheduled to perform with him at the concert at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage. The performance was a part of the October World Weekend, which also featured performances by the headlining acts All Canadian North Stars, Chris Brown, and Lil Baby.

Drake returned to the music industry on Friday, joining the Canadian singer for her performance after a five-year absence. He posted a picture of the two of them on stage. On the stage, he posted a photo with the comment, “even if my love is uncommon. And while my love is genuine, “citing the song I’m Like a Bird by Furtado.

This news spread the sadness in the fans as they were waiting for him to perform on the stage. But followers at the same time sent the prayers and wished him quick recovery. He reverted and said he is grateful.
