Victoria Pousada is a model, actress, advocate, and self-proclaimed Zillennial. She has walked runways all over the world and has appeared in Elle and Harper’s Bazaar when she walked in London Fashion Week for Renee Cafaro. An advocate for models, Victoria has worked with The Model Alliance to help pass The Fashion Workers Act as well as educating fellow models through her blog and social media. I recently caught up with this Rutgers University graduate to learn a little more about her amazing life.
What drew you into social media?
I was drawn into social media the same way all Zillennials (people on the cusp of millennial and Gen Z) like me were. Started with Myspace, lied about my age to make a Facebook, and I felt so cool when I got a Tumblr account. And all my sisters are a minimum of 8 years older than me. So, their social media definitely got me on the train faster.
Where do you get the inspiration for your content?
I most often just repost the work I already do like my tapes, or bloopers from said self-tapes, or my portfolio pictures. But then sometimes a social issue will come up and I just share my opinion or related experiences!
What do you love about modeling?
I love how it’s never boring! And how it’s active, but not exhausting. And the positive impact that having my body type in fashion and on-screen has on American media and culture.
What is your advice for keeping a healthy work/life balance?
Get a Google Calendar! I’d be lost without mine. And color-code it! My get-togethers and fun events are in pink. And health / self-care related events are in mint. So, I can visually see how much I dedicate in a week to myself.
Tell us something people would be surprised to learn about you.
I’m actually a horseback rider! My Dad’s whole side of the family is into it so I learned to ride when I was young. And I even won a few blue ribbons back in the day!
What are your goals for 2024?
I want to definitely book a feature film or a guest star on a major streaming service this year. I also want to get another editorial under my belt and procure representation in Atlanta.
Any upcoming projects you can share?
I recently did a photoshoot for the purpose of publication, so I’m looking forward to seeing what magazines the photographer submitted to and where our work will be published.
