Shawn Mendes needs some vitamin D from the sun.
The “Treat You Better” singer was pictured without a shirt this past weekend as he spent some quality time with his buddies in sunny California.
Mendes, 23, was shoeless while out on a stroll, flaunting his tattoos and ripped body. During the midday outing, he wore black swim shorts, a necklace, and a bracelet.
The singer announced earlier in the month that he was postponing shows on his Wonders globe tour in order to concentrate on his mental wellbeing.
The following three weeks of performances through Uncasville, Connecticut will have to be postponed till further notice, he writes, with a saddened tone.
He said, “I’ve been travelling since I was 15 and to be honest, being separated from my family and friends has consistently been challenging.”
Mendes claimed that he felt “like I was ready to plunge back in” to touring after taking a few years off. He later understood, though, that “that choice was hasty and sadly the devastating impact of the journey and the strain has come up on me.” Mendes said, “I’ve reached my breaking point.
I need to take some time to recover and stay on top of myself and my emotional health, first and foremost, after talking with my team and medical specialists. I’ll let you be aware as soon as there are any other changes, I swear. I love you guys,” he said.
A source later said, “He being in the public eye has long put a lot of pressure” on the singer.
While Mendes has had difficulty in the past, the source said that “he is now able to identify triggers that make it necessary for him to slow down and focus on his health. He wants to give 100 percent of his energy and focus to his tour and his fans.”
Mendes previously opened up about having anxiety in a 2018 interview with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe. A year later, he said that going public with his struggle was “one of the scariest but most important things I’ve ever done.”
