Mery Diamondz just released her first original single and it’s HOT! “It’s a Girl” is currently streaming on all platforms just in time for summer. This catchy, dance hit is sure to be on everyone’s playlists. Mery took time out of the studio for a quick interview about her new song. Enjoy!

What drew you into singing?

I was exposed to music at an early age, as my mother’s aunt was a well-known artist from Armenia. I would go to her concerts and then eventually sang alongside her in choirs. I always knew I had a passion for music, and my mother’s aunt motivated me to pursue this passion.

What is your process for breaking down a song?

First, I try to put my emotions down on paper in the form of lyrics. Then I work with my producer on the type of melody I want. Through trial and error, we arrive at the correct combination of lyrics and melody, and we finalize the piece.

What do you look for in a song?

I want my music to touch people’s hearts and uplift their souls.

Tell us about your newest single It’s a Girl.

“It’s a girl” is about gender reveal parties, baby showers, and couples awaiting “baby” news. I’ve always been invited to gender reveals and all the babies were girls. So, that is what inspired me to write this song.

What is your advice for keeping a healthy work/life balance?

Be disciplined and manage your time wisely. Don’t waste your energy on negativity.

Tell us something people would be surprised to learn about you.

I used to be a pharmacy technician, but I quickly realized that my passion lies elsewhere. That’s when I started going after my music career.

What are your goals for 2023?

To record more music and to be more involved in the TV and music project and to launch my own clothing and perfume line.

Any upcoming projects you can share?
